Who we are
Lawson Imaging is a recognized leader in non-invasive biomedical imaging with new developments in hybrid imaging platforms such as PET/CT, SPECT/CT and MR/PET currently being applied to the areas of cardiology, neurology (including mental health), metabolic disease and cancer. Newly-acquired cyclotron and radiochemistry facilities will provide key resources for this research. Also at the forefront of biomedical imaging are the emerging technologies of photoacoustic and optical imaging and optical spectroscopy as well as the investigation and therapeutic application of bioelectromagnetics.
As a world leader using state-of-the-art imaging technology, our research is focused on the development of non-invasive capabilities and diagnostic imaging so that we can better understand the fundamental mechanisms of human biology and enhance the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease.
Our vision is to become one of the finest hospital-based imaging research programs in the world.
To do this we are taking an integrated approach that embraces all imaging technologies and focuses on applications in oncology, cardiology, neurology (including mental health) and metabolic diseases.
Our faculty and staff have the expertise and creativity to discover and innovate through basic research, translational research, clinical trials, and commercialization.
